Lets face it, you don’t wake up one morning and suddenly decide you’ll take out a vehicle on long term personal car hire. It’s the solution to a problem, you need a car for a specific reason for a period of time. It could be for holiday, whilst your car is in for repairs or just in the interim while you wait for a new car to be delivered.
We all know that if you pay too little, something will go wrong but at the same time we don’t want to pay over the odds…….it’s a fact of life.
So here’s a little tip, that might save you a few pennies…….
When you collect your car from the car rental company, and they offer to reduce your collision damage waiver by paying extra, check the amount they want to charge. Sometimes it can be a bit over the top especially when you can buy it in advance off the internet.
I am not talking about the car hire insurance itself, (you still have to buy this) but the option to reduce the excess they want to charge if you have an accident.
There are a number of companies that offer this, and it can be quite a saving on a long term personal car rental..
